On 30 January 2020 GPG organised a successful community event to discuss how we can address the climate emergency at a local level.

Almost 100 people attended to discuss ideas for what we can do in Penarth to tackle environmental challenges, and what our priorities should be.

Representatives from Penarth Youth Action highlighted how important it is to engage with young people and how PYA are focussing on environmental issues.

Key themes emerging during the evening included developing:
• A Green Directory for Penarth
• A Library of Things (eg Benthyg)
• Community renewable energy projects
• Community planting/ gardening / growing (eg Share Cardiff), edible
Penarth, extend community orchard and explore tree planting space
As well as interest in topics such as reusing, recycling, waste, travel and local food.
